Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and has been working in the financial and business field since June 1972. During this period, he worked as Accountant, Manager, and Chief Financial Officer in private industry, with experience in importing, real estate, wholesale distribution, retail distribution, and manufacturing. In 1983, he opened Humphres & Associates, PC to assist small business owners with business, accounting, planning and automation. Jim holds regular speaking engagements on real estate, investments, and small business operations. He is a member of the Tennessee Speakers' Bureau, TN Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, and the TN Society of CPAs. Jim is also a member of the Country Music Association and represents several major artists and writers.

Thelma assisted Jim in founding the firm in 1983. She not only manages the firm's internal operations, but has been a Certified Consultant and Trainer for Peachtree Software since 1986. Her expertise lies in assisting clients to operate more efficiently and installing operational systems.

Jamie is a graduate of Lynchburg College, with a BA in Accounting, and completed his Masters of Accounting at Belmont University. He began working at Humphres & Associates in 2005. After obtaining his Masters, he spent time with Ernst & Young in tax consulting and compliance for various public clients, as well as service in audit and compliance with the Sorbanes-Orley Legislation for public companies. Since coming to Humphres & Associates, Jamie’s focus has switched to providing business and personal financial management for various artists and entertainers. Current clients include: Miley Cyrus, Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, and We The Kings, amongst others.

Tawnee began working with us in the fall of 2004 and is a Certified Consultant for Peachtree and ACT Software. Tawnee has been a user of Peachtree (DOS and now the Windows releases) for many years. Additionally, she owns a business with her husband, bringing tangible experience to our Peachtree training and support.

Rob is a Massachusetts native, who joined Humphres & Associates in 2007, to assist with the growing Business Management Services. He is a Lynchburg College graduate with dual degrees in Economics and Finance. Rob holds a Series 7 License as well as a Life, Health and Annuity Insurance License. Prior to coming on board with Humphres & Associates, he served eight years assisting clients with personal portfolio management. He currently assists Jamie and Jim in providing the necessary financial services required by the complexities of entertainers income and related supporting services.

Janis is the newest member of the H&A Team, joining us in December of 2007. She came to us from a position where she had served over ten years as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager, providing high-level support to executives within the Financial Services Industry. Prior to that, she worked in the Entertainment Industry, delivering personal and administrative support to a local entertainer.

John began his affiliation with Humphres & Associates in 2004, working with our firm on a part-time, consulting basis. In 2008, he came on board as a full time accountant, after closing his own practice of more than 25 years. He has been engaged in public accounting for over 35 years and has extensive experience in: audits of small business; financial statement preparation, including compilation and review for businesses and individuals; tax preparation and planning services for individuals, business, trusts and estates. John is a graduate of George Peabody College, and a member of the American Institute and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
